Join Leslie Stroz for an all-inclusive, transformative art retreat in the gateway of the Scottish Highlands! Located in a private, luxury retreat venue set within a stunning 100-acre estate in Perthshire, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery as you immerse yourself in a full week of tiny painting and sketching on location.
Leslie will share her 40+ years of drawing and painting experience with you, demonstrating how to compose dynamic compositions, draw what you see, mix colours masterfully, and create paintings that will delight. The mornings will feature demonstrations and tutorials in a private studio with natural light and pastoral views from the floor to ceiling windows to inspire you.
The focus will be on building observational and drawing skills, watercolour techniques, and learning to scale your work down to a small level. After lunch, you’ll have time to paint en plein air in the grounds of the beautiful estate (when we’re not off on one of our painting adventures!).
Leslie will be there to guide and help you take your art to the next level. The retreat is limited to 16 students to allow for personalised guidance. Four inspiring day trips will allow you to experience a variety of the area’s delights:
A full day exploring and painting in St.Andrews, with its charming medieval streets and glimpses of the North Sea.
A Visit to Stirling Castle to learn the history of the area and paint its ancient and impressive features.
A visit to nearby Loch Earn where you can paint the shimmering waters set amongst a dramatic mountain backdrop.
A guided nature walk through ancient woodlands, rolling hills. and picturesque trails, stopping for lunch and to sketch along the way.
By the end of the week, you’ll have a wealth of inspiration and knowledge to carry you forward with your art practice.
Leslie Stroz is a professional artist, illustrator and art professor. Best known for creating the global Tiny Painting movement that has swept the internet, she shares her painting adventures online to an audience of over 1.6 million.
Before moving to England in 2014, Leslie taught drawing and oil painting at the State University of New York in Geneseo. She now lives in the English countryside, nestled on a rolling hill between the moors and the sea, where she has an endless array of heather and waves to paint, and where she teaches private lessons and workshops in drawing and painting. She spent most of her life exploring traditional drawing and painting skills, but the scenery that surrounds her has sparked a fascination with painting landscape and nature.
The beauty and wildness of Scotland has long held a universal appeal to artists. Here, you will be able to escape to the countryside and experience for yourself some of the mysteries the ancient landscape has to offer, whilst relaxing in the evenings in a private, luxurious estate featuring hot tubs and log-burning stoves.
